tuesday things | words are fun

Welcome to the “new” blog! Content on What the French should be fairly similar to what it’s always been – travel, food, wine, life – but I do hope to introduce a new guest blogger soon, so get ready!

I had such a case of the Mondays yesterday that I got a milkshake and two cookies. C’est la vie? I’m hoping the rest of the week is more like this instead!

sparkly!

One of my goals this year was to read at least one book each month, and so far I’ve been keeping up (review post to come … eventually). I shared this article on Facebook yesterday and must say that I completely agree!

And even if all those benefits aren’t real, why wouldn’t you want to delve into a world where these words are the norm?

Another goal for this year was to learn, so I am trying to listen to Coffee Break French and incorporate into posts like I used to – mostly because that would mean that I still grasp a bit of the language and all I’ve ever wanted was to actually be French. Maybe I should start with these phrases!

Don’t you think Shakespeare is like a love language itself? I love these Shakespearean terms of endearment! Many are based on animals and then others seem random. Funny how words can hold such a different meaning hundreds of years later.

Speaking of time, have you ever wondered what to call the first decade of a century?
